A place in your kitchen.
A part of your family’s day.
Our past. Our present. Our people.

A Mumbai legacy,
built around families.

For 19 years, Kesar Ganga has been part of the milk traditions of Mumbai’s KVO Jain community. Today, we serve more than 5,000 KVO Jain families across the city—a relationship that means much more to us than a daily delivery.

The cup before school. Dahi set for lunch. The aroma of ghee in the kitchen. These small routines are where family food traditions live. We want our milk to have a place in those moments, with care for hygiene and respect for the way your family likes to eat.

Our past gives us a name to care for. The families we serve today give that responsibility meaning. For the years ahead, our focus remains the same: the milk, the home and the people around your table.

“Your family’s daily milk is never a small responsibility.”— Kesar Ganga
Two milk choices. One family tradition.

Milk for the glass.
Milk for your kitchen.

Choose Kesar Ganga Cow Milk or Full Cream Milk for the way your household drinks, cooks and makes its favourite dairy foods.

6 serving ideas

Serving illustration of Homemade dahi
Milk + a suitable dahi starter

Homemade dahi

A bowl beside your dal and roti. A base for chaas. A spoonful with lunch. Make dahi in your own kitchen and enjoy it the way your family likes it.

Kitchen notes

A suitable starter, its setting temperature and the milk all influence texture and tang. Follow a reliable recipe and the starter instructions; refrigerate once the curd is set.[7]

Serving illustration of Paneer, your way
Milk + a suitable food acid

Paneer, your way

From a Jain-style sabzi to a homemade paratha, paneer opens up so many family favourites. Choose your seasonings, the size of the pieces and how firmly to press it.

Kitchen notes

Use sound milk, a food-grade acid such as lemon juice, clean draining cloth and a reliable paneer recipe. Refrigerate promptly after preparation. Yield varies with the milk and method.[9]

Serving illustration of Traditional makhan
Milk cream → homemade butter

Traditional makhan

Bring the makhan tradition back to your table. Churn safely stored cream using your preferred recipe, then enjoy a little homemade butter with a meal.

Kitchen notes

Use a suitable cream-churning method, clean equipment and safe storage. Butter is mainly milk fat; it is not a substitute for the protein and calcium in a serving of milk.[8]

Serving illustration of Ghee from your kitchen
Milk cream → butter → ghee

Ghee from your kitchen

That familiar aroma when a spoonful meets warm food. Turn recovered cream into butter, then make ghee with the flavour you enjoy through careful cooking.

Kitchen notes

The amount of ghee depends on the fat recovered and losses during preparation. A thick-looking layer of malai does not guarantee a particular yield. Use a clean, dry storage jar.[8]

Serving illustration of A bowl of shrikhand
Homemade dahi → strained curd

A bowl of shrikhand

Saffron, cardamom and your own choice of sweetness. Start with homemade dahi and make a small bowl of shrikhand for a family meal or a special occasion.

Kitchen notes

Drain the curd in the refrigerator using clean equipment. Keep the finished dessert chilled. You control the added sugar; enjoy sweet dishes in suitable portions.[9]

Serving illustration of Kheer & family favourites
Milk + rice + your chosen flavours

Kheer & family favourites

Some recipes feel like home from the first spoonful. Make kheer with the thickness, sweetness and seasonings your family enjoys, for an everyday treat or a celebration.

Kitchen notes

Adults should handle the hot milk and cooking. Prepare a manageable batch and refrigerate leftovers promptly. Kheer is a dessert, not a replacement for a balanced meal.

The confidence of knowing

You know what goes in.
You decide how it tastes.

There is something reassuring about making a family favourite yourself. Your ingredients, your utensils and a recipe made to suit your home.

Ingredients you choose

Decide which milk, starter, food acid and seasonings to use. Add only what your recipe needs, and keep track of what goes into each batch.

Your family’s taste

Adjust sweetness, tang, seasoning and texture. A plain bowl of dahi, softly pressed paneer or cardamom-scented kheer can be made to your own preference.

Hygiene in your hands

Clean the utensils yourself, prepare manageable portions and know when the food was made. Keep perishable dairy foods appropriately refrigerated.

Homemade is a choice, not a safety guarantee. Sound milk, clean equipment, reliable preparation and correct storage remain essential.[9]

That familiar malai tradition

From your daily milk
to your own homemade ghee.

For families who enjoy making butter and ghee, the cream from milk can become another part of the home-kitchen routine.

Milk & creamButterGhee

Use safely stored cream and a suitable recipe. Milk composition and your preparation method influence the cream you recover and the finished result. A visible layer of malai is not a promise of a fixed amount of ghee.

When cream is removed, the milk left behind has less fat. And while ghee adds flavour to a meal, it does not replace the protein and calcium contribution of milk, curd or paneer.[8]

For the growing years

For the growing years,
everyday food matters.

From breakfast before school to food after play, everyday meals matter. Milk can contribute useful nutrients within a varied diet—not instead of one.[1][5]

PROTEIN

A contribution to daily nutrition

Milk contributes protein to everyday meals. Keep variety on the plate with pulses, grains, vegetables, fruit and other foods your family eats.[1]

CALCIUM

For normal bones and teeth

Calcium is part of the structure of bones and teeth. Milk and curd are ways of including dietary calcium during the growing years.[2]

VARIETY

Beyond a glass of milk

Plain dahi, paneer in a meal or milk in breakfast can offer different ways to enjoy dairy. Ghee and butter are mainly fats, not nutritionally equivalent swaps for milk.[8]

A published study · BMJ · 1997

What researchers found
about milk and growing bones

An 18-month randomised trial enrolled 82 girls aged about 12 in Sheffield, UK. The extra-milk group had greater gains in bone mineral content and density than the group continuing its usual diet.

Importantly, there was no significant difference in height. The result supports a role for milk in bone nutrition, not a promise that drinking it makes every child taller.

The useful message for parents

Enough nutrition.
A balanced routine.

More is not always better. A 2017 randomised dairy trial found no overall extra benefit for most bone outcomes when the comparison group already had substantial calcium intake; one tibial bone-mineral measure did improve.[4]

Choose the milk type and amount for your child’s age, appetite and dietary needs. Milk should not crowd out other foods.[5]

These are general nutrition studies, not trials or endorsements of Kesar Ganga milk. They do not establish brand-specific growth benefits.

For families with children aged 1 year and above. These milks are not infant formula. Cow milk should not replace breast milk or infant formula as the main drink before 12 months. For milk allergy, feeding difficulties or special diets, seek individual clinical advice. Check the current pouch for actual nutrient values; no vitamin D fortification is assumed here.[5]
Care you carry into your kitchen

Hygiene is part
of caring for family.

At Kesar Ganga, hygienic handling and milk quality checks remain central to the care we give your daily milk. At home, a few thoughtful habits help you look after it.

A little attention, every day.
01

Check your pouch

Look at the seal, date and storage instructions. Do not use a leaking or damaged pack; contact us with its details.

02

Keep it refrigerated

Put the milk away promptly and follow its label. Pasteurised pouch milk still needs cold storage.

03

Start with clean utensils

Wash hands, vessels, spoons and draining cloths before making or serving dairy foods.

04

Make manageable batches

Keep finished perishable foods covered and chilled. Track when they were made, and never taste doubtful food to check safety.[9]

16 questions
Who is Kesar Ganga for?

Kesar Ganga serves 5,000+ KVO Jain families in Mumbai. Our page celebrates 19 years of family trust, everyday milk and the food traditions that make each home special. For supply to your building, speak with us directly.

Which milk options can I choose?

This page features Kesar Ganga Cow Milk and Kesar Ganga Full Cream Milk. Tell us what your household needs for drinking and cooking, and confirm current pack options and prices with our team.

Can I use Full Cream Milk in family recipes?

Yes. Use it in suitable recipes for dahi, paneer, kheer and other milk-based favourites. You can choose the sweetness, seasonings and finished texture, while following the product’s actual storage instructions.

Can I make dahi and paneer with either milk?

Yes. Cow milk and full cream milk can both be used in suitable dahi and paneer recipes. The milk composition, starter or food acid, and method affect texture and yield. Try a small batch to find the result your family prefers.

Do I need to buy both milk types?

No. Choose the milk that suits your household. Some families may prefer one option for daily use and another for richer dishes, but there is no need to buy both to start making dairy foods at home.

Can I make butter and ghee from the milk?

You can use cream recovered from milk in suitable butter-and-ghee recipes. How much cream separates depends on the milk and handling. No fixed butter or ghee quantity is promised from each pouch.

Why can the malai look different each day?

Milk composition can vary, and heating, cooling, stirring and the vessel used also affect its appearance. A cream layer is not a measurement of the milk’s safety or exact fat content. Contact us about a persistent or unusual change.[1]

Is making dairy food at home automatically safer?

No. Home preparation gives you direct control over ingredients and handling, but safe food still depends on sound milk, clean equipment, a reliable method and appropriate refrigeration.[6]

Can homemade foods taste the way my family prefers?

That is one of the pleasures of making them yourself. You decide the seasonings, sweetness, texture and portion size. Taste is personal, so try a small batch and adjust your recipe rather than expecting every result to be identical.

Why include milk in a growing child’s diet?

Milk can contribute protein, calcium and other nutrients as part of a varied diet. Calcium has a role in normal bones and teeth. The right milk and portion depend on a child’s age, overall food intake and individual needs.[1][2]

Do studies show that milk makes every child taller?

No. The 1997 trial described on this page found better bone-mineral gains in the milk group, but no significant difference in height. These studies did not test Kesar Ganga milk and cannot promise an outcome for every child.[3]

Is full cream milk the best choice for every child?

Not necessarily. More fat is not automatically better for every child. Discuss the suitable milk type and portion with your child’s clinician when there are growth, weight or dietary concerns.[5]

Can babies drink this instead of breast milk or infant formula?

These products are not infant formula. Cow milk should not replace breast milk or infant formula as the main drink before 12 months. Ask your child’s clinician about infant feeding.[5]

What about milk allergy or lactose intolerance?

Both products contain milk and are not presented as lactose-free. People with a milk allergy should avoid them. For lactose intolerance, follow individual dietary advice; making curd at home does not guarantee that it is lactose-free.[7]

Can I use doubtful milk to avoid wasting it?

Do not turn spoiled or unsafely stored milk into paneer, curd or sweets. Cooking is not a reliable way to rescue doubtful milk. Do not taste it to test its safety.[6]
